The silicone sock for the hotend is a black silicone sock that covers the surface of the nozzle, and it helps to ensure the stability of the temperature of the nozzle.

WARNING! Beware of high temperatures, and check the temperature of the nozzle before turning off the printer. The temperature of the nozzle should be lower than 50 degrees Celsius.
Power off the printer, open the front housing assembly, and hang it over the carbon rod.
Move the toolhead forward to a convenient position, and then pull down to remove the silicone sock.
(Clean the nozzle if needed)
Prepare a new silicone sock. Make sure the wires notch on the silicone sock is on the correct side. Mount the silicone sock to the nozzle by pushing it up and to the top end of the nozzle.
Close the front housing assembly.
Visual check that there is no loose fitting of the silicone sock.
