¶ Rear Metal Panel - P1 Series
It is the black metal panel that is installed on the back of the P1S printer.

¶ When to use
- When the metal rear panel is deformed due to transportation, you can choose to replace it.
¶ Tools and materials needed
A new metal rear panel
H2.0 hex key

¶ Safety Warning
IMPORTANT!
It's crucial to power off the printer before performing any maintenance work on the printer and its electronics, including tool head wires, because leaving the printer on while conducting such tasks can cause a short circuit, which can lead to additional electronic damage and safety hazards.
When you perform maintenane or troubleshooting on the printer, you may be required to disassemble some parts, including the hotend. This process can expose wires and electrical components that could potentially short circuit if they come into contact with each other or with other metal or electronic components while the printer is still on. This can damage the electronics of the printer and cause further damage.
Therefore, it's essential to switch off the printer and disconnect it from the power source before doing any maintenance work. This will prevent any short circuits or damage to the printer's electronics. By doing so, you can avoid potential damage to the printer's electronic components and ensure that the maintenance work is performed safely and effectively.

¶ Remove the faulty metal rear panel
¶ Step 1 - Remove 4 Screws
Disconnect the power cord and remove 4 screws A with an H2.0 hex key.
¶ Step 2 - Remove 10 Screws

Remove 1 screw B with an H2.0 hex key (remove the spool holder if installed)  |
Remove 9 screws C with an H2.0 hex key  |
¶ Step 3 - Remove the rear panel

Release the rear panel first from the left side (facing the rear panel) where the belt tensioner is located  |
Then release the rear panel from the other belt tensioner on the right side. Remove the rear panel.  |
¶ Install new metal rear panel
¶ Step 1 - Install the rear panel
|
First, pass the rear panel through the filament tube bracket, and install the panel to the tensioner on the right side.

Then install the rear panel to the tensioner on the left side, and press the rear panel to install it in place at the filament tube bracket. |
¶ Step 2 - Lock in 10 screws

Lock in 9 screws C with an H2.0 hex key
|
Lock in 1 screw B with an H2.0 hex key (you can also install the spool holder) |
¶ Step 3 - Lock in 4 screws
Lock in 4 screws A with an H2.0 hex key.
¶ Verify the functionality
Replacing the metal rear panel does not require functional confirmation, as long as the appearance and installation are normal.
¶ Calibration step after the operation
For the rear panel, there is no need to perform any calibration or operation before using the printer.
